Permanent Hair Reduction

Is excess body or facial hair getting you down?     IPL could be the effective solution you are looking for.

Advanced IPL technology ensures long lasting results, safely removing hair and inhibiting regrowth over a period of time, resulting in permanent hair reduction.

Who is it for?

IPL works really well on men and women.  All areas can be treated including face, legs, bikini line, under arms, back and chest.  It is not suitable for light blonde, red or grey hairs.  For lighter hair, electrolysis is the best option, this can be discussed in consultation and the most suitable treatment will be recommended to suit your hair and skin type.

Does it hurt?

Dermalite IPL offers a safe, quick and painless treatment.  The cooling applicator head delivers fast shots of light, which decreases any discomfort both during and after treatment.  The sensation varies from very slight warmth or could be described as a ‘flick of an elastic band’.  Most clients describe the sensation as moderate and tolerable.

How many treatments will I need?

Each hair has a life cycle with growing, resting and shedding phases.  Each person has an individual growth pattern and density of hair growth.  Typically treatments will be spaced 4-8 weeks apart.  Often a significant reduction can be seen after as little as three sessions but in some cases more than six treatments will be required to catch further hairs in the growth phase.  A course of regular treatments is recommended for effective results.

Do you want to keep your skin looking younger?

Many  people have areas of concern as they age and are exposed to the sun which can result in brown spots and pigmentation patches.  Due to lack of collagen, wrinkles appear along with an uneven skin tone.  The Dermalite IPL emits short bursts of Intense Pulsed Light which can eradicate the problem within a few thousandths of a second in a safe, painless and effective way.

Who is it for?

Suitable for men or women and for face or body.  Different complexions can also be treated safely.  A consultation and patch test is always carried out at your first appointment to ensure safe treatment.

The Dermalite will improve the appearance of sun or age spots, smoothes out the texture of the skin, by increasing collagen production the skin is firmed and tightened, giving an improved more defined jawline, tightening jowls and smoothing and tightening the neck.  Ultimately wrinkles are improved by plumping up the skin, restoring collagen and decreasing redness.

Will I notice an improvement after one treatment?

Yes!  Most people will notice an improvement straight after their first treatment and the effects will continue to work repairing collagen and improving firmness for weeks afterwards.  A course of 3 – 5 treatments is recommended 4-6 weeks apart.  For the most significant improvement, follow up with two maintenance treatments per year.

Following clinical trials the noted results have been outstanding:

“45% wrinkle reduction observed after first treatment”

“Pigmentation drastically reduced after just one treatment”

Thread Veins

Also commonly referred to as red veins or broken capillaries are small blood vessels in the most superficial layer of the skin which have dilated and become visible.  They are most commonly found on the face and legs.  Facial thread veins are thinner than those on the legs.  They can be caused by many different things including circulation disorders, diet, trauma, medication, diabetes, alcohol, extreme temperatures, pregnancy, rosacea and can be hereditary.

IPL is a very effective treatment for facial thread veins.  The Intense pulse of light is absorbed by the blood vessel causing it to coagulate and break down.  The vein then gradually and safely disappears as it is reabsorbed by the body.  Thicker and more well-established blood vessels may need several treatments for effective results.  Due to the various causes of thread veins, they can re-occur therefore treatments to maintain results may be needed once or twice a year to keep the area clear.  More stubborn veins can also be treated with electrolysis. An initial consultation is recommended to discuss the best treatment option for you.

Acne

IPL is an effective treatment for acne, particularly when combined with a recommended skincare regime and supplementation.  Regular Dermalite IPL treatments can significantly calm acne spots, reduce redness and scarring, reduces the frequency of breakouts and results in clearer skin with reduced inflammation.   Acne can vary greatly and can have a number of causes, therefore a consultation is essential to recommend the most suitable treatment plan for you.

Rosacea

This is a skin condition which usually occurs on the face.  It can affect women or men of any skin type.  It is most commonly seen in fair skinned people over the age of 30.  It is a chronic condition and cannot be cured, but can be treated very effectively.  The most prominent symptom of Rosacea is redness, often in the centre of the face and nose, but it can affect the whole of the face and it can vary in severity from person to person.  Most people affected experience noticeable redness which looks like sunburn across the nose, cheeks and chin.  Some people may also develop red bumps and visible red veins.  In more extreme cases the skin on the nose can thicken and become red and swollen.  While the condition is more often seen in women, the symptoms tend to be more severe in men.  The causes of Rosacea are not fully understood, but it is believed that it is an inherited condition, but in some individuals there are triggers which can cause the condition to ‘flare up’, including heat, spicy food, alcohol, smoking and stress.

While Rosacea cannot be permanently cured, a good skincare regimen and regular in-salon IPL treatments can be highly effective in managing the symptoms, particularly in reducing redness and inflammation.  The intense pulsed light in Dermalite IPL also destroys the harmful bacteria responsible for causing the inflammation and acne bumps.  The light also stimulates the collagen production in the area to improve the appearance and texture of the skin.

IPL is now often recommended by medical professionals as the most effective treatment for Acne Rosacea, with often outstanding, life-changing results.  To find out more, book your consultation.
